Ageing, weight gain, massive weight loss, lipodystrophy and genetic factors can cause an accumulation of skin and fat in the inner thighs. This can be uncomfortable, unsightly and make clothing difficult to wear. A thigh lift can address these issues, firming, lifting and improving contour of the upper thighs. It may be performed alone or as a component of a body lift.
Extra volume in the upper thigh may be due to a combination of skin and fat excess. Every patient is different. Accordingly, Dr. Zinn will tailor a procedure to meet your specific needs, be it skin excision alone, liposuction alone or a combination of liposuction and skin excision. During your consultation, Dr. Zinn aims to understand your goals and work collaboratively with you to achieve these.
The incision used depends on the amount and extent of the excess skin. In a limited thigh lift, an incision is placed in the inner groin bikini line. However, some patients require more lift and tightening, and as such, an extended thigh lift is performed, where an incision will extend down the inner thigh towards the knee.
The procedure takes approximately two – three hours and is performed under general anaesthetia. Drains are often left for a few days following the surgery. Recovery takes up to three weeks. Dr. Zinn uses advanced surgical techniques to yield optimal results. A combination of massage, compression garments and scar management are encouraged for the first two months following your procedure to ensure the best outcome.
Dr. Zinn is focused on ensuring you are safe and supported throughout this journey beginning with your first consultation, where all questions are encouraged, through to the surgery and post-operative recovery process. Please come in for a personalised consultation to discuss how he can help you.
